About us

The South East Food Group Partnership (SEFGP) is an umbrella organisation funded by South East England Development Agency (SEEDA) and was set up to support local food groups and producers in the South East of England.

We also run local projects that are funded by Food from Britain (FFB) and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA).

The South East Food Group Partnership (SEFGP) works in partnership with food groups across the south east of England.

Our Objectives

  • To support the food groups to become viable, all-inclusive, support organisations with skill, expertise and high profile

  • Regionally:

    • Preparation of regional action plans

    • Attracting public and private sector support

    • Co-ordination of funding, targets and projects at regional and county level

    • To undertake research as required

    • Promotion of regional distinctive quality food at shows, events and within local government

    • Publish regional newsletter

    • Working with health agencies to raise the profile of food and health benefits

  • Locally (with county food groups)

    • Support and advise on producer and consumer activities

    • Trade development

    • Raise the profile of local produce through publicity activities

  • Skills

    • To develop an accreditation and assurance scheme to increase skills and quality assurance of local produce

    • To improve skills and opportunity for primary producers

  • Business Development

    • To encourage the establishment of sustainable food businesses that contribute to the rural economy
