A simple way to help conserve fish is to give popular fish species a break and switch to delicious alternatives that may be under less pressure. But this can seem daunting if you are not familiar with the taste or qualities of the alternative. The Top Ten Swaps offers alternatives to commonly eaten species. It suggests other tasty species of fish to try, fish from a certified sustainable source or from sources judged as more sustainable by marine experts. It also offers tips on where you can buy more sustainable alternatives, including from supermarkets that score consistently well in the Marine Conservation Society sustainable fish supermarket survey.
